Shiny & New
Stoked to introduce the updated Swaylock’s Forums on Discord, a shiny new place to keep our conversation going about surfboard design, construction, manufacture & history.
I’ve invited a bunch of our seasoned moderators to give it a test drive. Many have shown up. Even OG Paul Jensen is in there mucking around and he seems impressed — not easy if you know Paul. (Note: If you were a moderator and didn’t get an invite, let me know and I’ll get you set up asap.)
Getting Started
If you know about Discord and have an account, here’s the invite to the Swaylock’s server. Be sure to head to the #introduce-yourself channel and say hi when you land.
If you are new to Discord and want to join the conversation, click this Swaylock’s Discord Server Invite and follow the prompts. It will ask you to create a new username, but feel free to use your old Swaylock’s one if you prefer.
WTF is Discord?
In a nutshell, Discord is a cutting edge communication platform for communities like ours. In terms of technology, compared to our old forums, Discord is like going from a stagecoach to a spaceship. Way more functionality. Too many cool features to list.

I'm lost. I take it my old log-in is out of date and started the subscription process. I got to the page where it asked me to write something or post something. No skip or continue. Lost in the maze. Could the issue be that I don't have Discord loaded. I came upon reference to it later. There may be new features but the old model was easier for a galah. I think I signed up to discord successfully - I got taken to https://discord.com/channels/@me - where to from there.
I’m having trouble with the invite too. Keeps telling me password invalid. Have great hopes for the rebirth of Swaylocks. Learned a lot here over the many years it was flowing.
